Root Cutting & Pipe Milling in Hemel Hempstead
Some obstructions cannot be jetted away. A remote cutting head grinds them out of the pipe without digging anything up.
What you are actually dealing with
Tree roots are the most common reason a drain around Hemel Hempstead blocks again three weeks after it was cleared. They find an open joint, thrive on what is flowing past and rebuild into a dense mat that catches everything. Jetting knocks them back; it does not remove them.
A robotic cutter is a remotely operated grinding head driven into the pipe under camera control. It cuts roots back flush with the pipe wall, removes hardened scale and concrete, grinds off intruding lateral connections and reopens junctions after a liner has been installed.
Because roots come back through the same defect, we almost always pair cutting with a patch liner over the joint they entered through. Cutting alone buys you a year or two; cutting and sealing fixes it.

Method
How we handle root cutting & milling
Survey
Camera run to identify exactly what the obstruction is, how far in it sits and how far it extends.
Cut
Cutting head driven in under camera control and the obstruction ground back flush with the pipe wall.
Clear
The line jetted through to flush out all the arisings so nothing is left to cause the next blockage.
Seal
Where roots entered through a defect, the joint is patch-lined so they cannot simply grow back through it.
Questions
Root Cutting & Milling — the usual questions
Straight answers, including the ones that mean we do not get the job.
Through the same defect, yes, usually within a couple of years. That is why we recommend sealing the entry point rather than just cutting and walking away.
